About the Client
Our client is an expert in high performance polymers and a leading provider of biomaterial solutions. They are looking for a full-time New Product Introduction Engineer to join their team.
About the Role
The NPI Engineer will deliver sustainable manufacturing processes for new medical devices/components, successfully translating them from concept through to full scale manufacture.
Responsibilities include:
- Working alongside R&D and Operations groups to drive assessment studies for new products.
- Guiding the design for manufacture (DFM) process and shaping the integration of new processes both internally and externally
- Ensuring stakeholder requirements are met and new products are manufactured to specified cost, quality and lead time targets.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Validating/verifying new manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance to regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in NPI and/or new process developments, ideally within the medical component industry.
- Knowledge of advanced engineering plastics.
- In-depth knowledge of one or more thermoplastic manufacturing disciplines – injection moulding, compression moulding and/or extrusion.
- Understanding of Lean principles.
- Demonstrable history in the generation of Verification and Validation packages – leading and shaping the method of manufacture and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with PPAP and process capability techniques and analysis of inspection data using statistical analysis packages.
- Cleanroom manufacturing processes and the delivery of training and development of production staff.
- The above to be supported by a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent industrial experience.
