About the Client
Our client is an expert in high performance polymers and a leading provider of biomaterial solutions. They are looking for 2 full-time Manufacturing Engineers to join their team, one with a focus on composite moulding and the other focused on injection moulding.
About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer will support the implementation of new manufacturing processes, with a focus on composite or injection moulding.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the design and development of new manufacturing processes and procedures
- Optimising processes and procedures for business-as-usual manufacturing, ensuring they meet the required standards
- Managing existing production processes within defined standards and KPIs
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities, driving and managing the implementation of such activities to ensure production processes are optimised
Requirements:
Essential:
- Extensive industrial experience in a technical moulding, manufacturing environment, supported by a relevant degree or higher level NVQ
- Ability to think quickly, deal with problems independently and find solutions
- Composite or injection moulding experience
- Experience in commissioning new plastic products and tooling
- Demonstrable technical report writing skills
- Ability to teach/mentor apprentices
Preferred:
- The ideal candidate will also bring experience working within a controlled medical device manufacturing setting
- Experience working with high performance plastics (PEEK)
